As usual, we here at project: CLEAN FOOD find ourselves frequenting the farmer's markets and local grocers in and around the New York City area. And we like to keep our eye out for all the produce that is in season and readily available for consumption.

Seasonal produce is the best produce to be eating. It allows us to tune our minds and bodies to the vibrations of the respective part of the land in which you live; so you are more in sync with all things intellectually and intuitively! Pretty darn cool, ya?

THE POWER OF JUICING: DRINK UP!

Many people always stress the importance of eating your vegetables. However, in this day and age, people are finding it much harder to get all the vitamins and nutrients the body may require at one meal sitting. Our meals do not always contain all the essential vitamins and minerals we may need. And years ago, some brilliant minds came up with an amazing invention: the juicer!

Imagine putting your fruits and vegetables through a machine that breaks them down to just water and nutrients: all for your blissful consumption. The juicer has the power to transform the fruit or vegetable into a liquid state, thereby, making it much easier and faster to consume. A DIET HIGH IN FRUITS AND VEGGIES IS THE GATEWAY TO RADIANT HEALTH



It is so easy to feel overwhelmed with all the confusing terms out there used to describe various diets: vegetarian, vegan, raw foodist, pescetarian, lacto-vegetarian, lacto-ova-vegetarian, and on and on. Well we here at project: CLEAN FOOD are here to support you. Don't get too bogged down about all these terms, names and words. If it doesn't work for you, ditch the terminology, but definitely eat CLEAN FOOD. And in our book, CLEAN FOOD eating is a diet that is high in fruits and vegetables: that's it!

Many ancient people found such a diet to be the most superb and essential component to maintaining radiant health. Also, many great minds, thinkers, ascetics, creative beings and sages of the sort found this diet to be a significant tool in not only ridding the body of disease, but also one that is very conducive to awakening the creative faculties of the mind, total body purification and life longevity.


It's understandable to not know about all the fruits and vegetables available for purchase. So it is essential to be patient as you go through the transition process. Some people instantly doubt the ability of such a diet to provide all of the adequate vitamins, minerals, nutrients and antioxidants that the body may require: hence one of the reasons for minimal consumption of fruits and vegetables. The media plays a major role in what we consume and how we consume it. Remember how beautiful and amazing you are; remember how inspiring and radiant you are. And knowing these things, remember that you must consider eating premium foods in order to maintain not only radiant health, but also to energize and revitalize your entire body and mind.

MAKING DIET CHANGES? YOU'RE NOT ALONE. CONSULT YOUR FAMILY

While going through diet changes of the sort, don't ever think that you are alone. Turn to your family or friends for good, strong advice about how to make the shift that you feel you want. If you are feeling a bit confused, uneasy or a bit overwhelmed about these sort of things, family or friends can act as a beautiful sounding board for which you can bounce your thoughts and ideas.

At times, you may be considering such changes not just for you, but also for your entire family or group of friends. When we do things together, it can help make the effort stronger. So it is important that you share your new found philosophies and viewpoints with a receptive and open mind and heart. You may be surprised: your family and friends may be more than willing to join in on your effort to take some new steps towards change.

When shifting the priorities, it is important to have a good stable foundation (with yourself and within your immediate environment). A group of individuals that can listen with a kind and gentle heart can inspire us more to move in the direction that we feel is conducive to our growth.

So make the shift in your diet that you wish to make. Be as doubt free as possible. And if it helps, get your family or friends involved in your decisions. The more strong and grounded you are in your decision, the easier your transition will be into more of a CLEAN FOOD lifestyle.

Eating CLEAN FOOD is important. But eating CLEAN FOOD while doubt free is even more powerful.

DESSERTS AND SWEETS CAN BE CLEAN FOOD TOO!


We must admit, every now and again, we thoroughly enjoy some good ol' sweets here at project: CLEAN FOOD. We understand the impact that having lots of sweets can have on the system. So when we do opt for some desserts or sweets, we usually aim for the vegan and raw vegan prepared desserts.

Vegan desserts are those that do not contain any sort of bleached flours, refined sugars or animal products in the ingredients: so no dairy, no eggs, no butter,no white flour, etc. Raw vegan desserts are not even baked or heated. These desserts are put together using a variety of nuts, dates, figs, avocados or a slew of other fresh ingredients carefully crafted with sheer genius: so none of the ingredients need to be heated. Other than that, they are similar to the ingredients of vegan desserts.

So why are these sorts of sweets and desserts better for ya? Well, the short answer is: they are so much easier to digest! When the ingredients are more pure, more clean and less refined, it is a much more enjoyable experience. Sweets are fun! And they should remain that way! So, you don't have to stop eating sweets: just check out some vegan or raw vegan delights!

CHEWING WITH AWARENESS: GET ALL YOUR NUTRIENTS

We all love to eat delicious and nutritious meals of the sort. However, we tend to forget the power and beauty in relishing in each bite of those meals. Because of the fast paced world we live in, we oftentimes get caught up in rushing our meals and eating them very fast. And as great as it is to eat healthy and natural foods from the Earth, all of those benefits are lost when the food is eaten fast and digestion is rushed. So, we here at project: CLEAN FOOD want to make sure you know the importance of chewing slowly: with awareness and minfulness.

When the process of chewing is rushed, your digestive processes will also experience a sense of urgency; this not good for your body. When chewing is rushed, you run the risk of not absorbing all of the nutritious benefits of the foods. The process of digestion starts in the mouth. So when your saliva starts to mix with your food, your body is already preparing the food to enter in the body in a correct and safe format. Your saliva has all sorts of essential elements and chemicals that are required for the adequate breakdown of your foods. And when your saliva is not able to mix correctly with your foods, you become susceptible to all sorts of digestive ailments (in addition to malabsorption).

When the food is chewed slowly and the saliva breaks down the food in an appropriate manner, all the essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals are absorbed to perfection. By eating slower and taking time to chew your food, you are less likely to overeat and feel completely stuffed (also not very healthy for your body). When the body is able to adequately take in as many nutrients as possible, you are more likely to eat the correct amount of food at each and every sitting for a meal.

So prioritize your health: chew slowly and more mindfully. There is not need to rush your your meals. And if you find yourself always rushing your meals, just take careful consideration of your body and all of its requirements. Make sure to prioritize your eating habits (and not just the food). Also, consider talking less while eating your food. Sometimes when we talk a lot during our meals, we tend to chew fast in the process.

Today let us take some beautiful strides forward to better our eating habits. What is the sense in eating beautiful foods of the Earth if our bodies are not able to take in all the love that Mother Nature has provided for us in those foods? So slow down a bit. Make your meal a beautiful one.
