project: CLEAN FOOD's TOP 18 FRUITS THAT DO NOT NEED TO BE BOUGHT ORGANIC

When you walk into the markets, there are now these big sections dedicated to organic foods and products. Just about every type of produce can be bought organic nowadays; however every fruit does not need to be bought organic. You may think to ask yourself, 'Why?' If organic fruit is the best and most healthiest type of fruit, why would one not buy it organic?

Well here is the truth behind it all. Fruits that have a tougher skin do not necessarily need to be bought organic. The skin of these fruits are made strong by the Earth and the soil as a means to protect it from pests, germs and--believe it or not--all pesticides of the sort.

So, without further ado, here is the list:

--Pineapple
--Mango
--Banana
--Papaya
--Kiwi
--Avocado
--Orange
--Grapefruit
--Tangerine
--Cantaloupe
--Gineps
--Lychee
--Breadfruit
--Jackfruit
--Dragon fruit
--Pomegranates
--Guava
--Passion fruit

If your favourite fruits were not included on this list, it is probably safer (and healthier) to buy those particular fruits organic: especially at a place where you know the quality of the produce well.

Take the new information and run with it!

Have Fun!

THE KEY TO SURVIVING HURRICANE IRENE: CLEAN WATER!

One of the most important things you need to have an abundance of when preparing for a big storm is pure, clean water! Water is the supreme vitality of human existence. Our bodies are mostly made of water; so it is imperative that we maintain that supply of water in our bodies.

During these times, the power of having lots of clean water is grossly overlooked. Clean water is not only essential for nourishing your system, but also for the following reasons:

--Washing food
--Bathing
--Nourishing your pets
--Washing clothes
--Preparing foods and beverages
--Cooking
--Cleaning
--Nourishing others that may not have an abundant supply
--Washing cuts and bruises
--Maintaining adequate hygiene
--Taking medications

Consider having enough water to last for at least 4 - 7 days. It will come in handy: especially if there is limited access to stores selling water, good clean tap water, or clean water from a drinking well.

Once you have clean water, you don't necessarily need to stock up on too much non-perishable foods. The water itself acts as that vital life force that your body requires for its nourishment.

CLEAN water is must! And having easy access to it during a powerful storm is definitely project: CLEAN FOOD approved.

Keep calm...Keep cool...Keep drinking CLEAN water...

I HEART RAW HONEY: ONE OF THE BEST SWEETENERS ON EARTH

Raw Honey is probably by far one of the best and healthiest sweeteners anyone can have in their cupboards. It is easily digestible for many and is very good for all sorts of ailments. In particular, Local Raw Honey is really great. When you buy raw honey that is secured locally, it gives your body the opportunity to "fall into rhythm" with the pollens and some subtle allergens of your immediate environment. (For more on the benenfits of Raw Honey, click RAW HONEY BENEFITS)

Raw honey can be used in your smoothie, in your tea, in your oatmeal or yogurt, over some fruit, in baking or even just taken by the spoonful as a supplement!

So why raw honey you may ask? Well, when consumed in this state, it is at its most pure and nutritious. Most honey you see in the supermarkets is usually not raw. In most cases, it is heated and goes through a pasteurization process which pretty much eliminates most of the honey's potency as a superfood. Yucky! Most places sell the highly processed honey because it is easier to package and ship around: it is not as delicate as its raw form.

When buying your raw honey, buy the ones that are stored in glass jars. Now in some cases, raw honey is put in plastic containers for easier shipping and distribution. While putting raw honey in plastic containers is not ideal for storage, this honey in many cases is the freshest.

The beekeepers and purveyors of the honey work really hard to get the honey to the stores in a timely fashion; so they go out of their way to put a packaged date on the honey contained in the plastic. They want to make sure you know exactly what your getting. And if you go to a place where local raw honey is often sold, this raw honey is usually not in the package longer than a couple of days or so. So if you buy local raw honey sold in a plastic container, immediately transfer it to a glass jar (like a mason jar).

We here at project: CLEAN FOOD are strong advocates for the the most pure form of all foods: Raw Honey is no exception. Fall in line with nature again and her busy bees.

Because Raw Honey is project: CLEAN FOOD approved.
